Renaissance Club & Hawkswood House

Scottish Golf Tourism Week – The Renaissance Club and Hawkswood House – Luke’s favourites.

We used Scottish Golf Tourism Week as the perfect opportunity to catch up with existing contacts as well make new ones in the golf tourism industry. A very beneficial couple of days in St Andrews was had meeting with golf clubs, resorts, bars, restaurants and of course accommodation providers. This is a key part of the preparation process for the 2020 season. Acquiring rates, availability and much more information, it allows us to tailor the very best golfing vacations for our guests. It was great to meet with so many properties, but reviewing the week, I have selected two properties that for me stood out. In terms of individual style, character and quirkiness, it was great to hear from the Renaissance Club and Hawkswood House.

Renaissance Club (TRC):

I am sure that the majority of our guests will be well aware of the top-quality golf courses that the ‘Home of Golf’ has to offer. From Open Championship venues that have been played for hundreds of years to much younger golf courses who have all the history ahead of them. A great example of these younger golf courses comes from the 2019 Scottish Open venue, The Renaissance Club (TRC). Opened in 2008, the property is ideally located adjacent to the world famous Muirfield with North Berwick slightly further east. Guests will enjoy a unique sense of freedom at TRC that they are unlikely to experience at any other golf property in Scotland. TRC effectively utilise their ‘resort’ status to host unique days of golf for our guests that couldn’t be hosted at other properties.

Hawkswood Country Estate:

Hawkswood is a beautiful self-catering country house in the heart of Fife. It is a unique property giving our guests the opportunity to relax in a peaceful, rural location yet only a few miles from St Andrews. One thing that stood out for us about the property is the extensive onsite practice facilities that allows guests fine tune their game for upcoming rounds. The property also provides guests with the perfect setting for fun and games over a barbeque and some beers in the evenings or on down days.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank both The Renaissance Club and Hawkswood for their time during SGTW and for all of the updates they provided.
