The Dylan Hotel is a five-star boutique hotel in Dublin’s south city center sitting in an exclusive Victorian neighborhood. The hotel was formerly the nurse’s home for the Royal City of Dublin Hospital and took pride in the history and character of the unique building in which it is founded. In 2019 the hotel completely refurbished the ground floor public areas as well as the food and beverage offerings, creating something quite special and unique in the process.
There are 72 individually designed bedrooms in the form of Luxury Queen Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Experience Suite and Signature Suite. You will not be disappointed with the abundance of amenities on offer in the bedrooms. The Luxury Queen Rooms are front facing with neighborhood views through large sash windows in keeping with the Victorian facade of the hotel. For dining, enjoy The Eddison Restaurant. The Eddison is a beautiful, fresh dining experience inspired by Ireland’s world-class food producers. The design is bright and airy with an outdoor terrace on either side. The menus offer the best seasonal Irish produce across breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as late night snacks and drinks. The nostalgically named restaurant is after Miss Edith Anne Eddison who was a Matron from the Royal City of Dublin Hospital from 1909 – 1917 and who lived in the hotel when it was the former nurse’s home.
The Dylan Bar is a beautiful setting with walnut paneling and a color scheme of orange, slate, and mustard. The ambiance is perfect for morning breakfast, long lunches and delicious drinks and dinner in the evenings. Food is available from 12 pm – 11 pm including some amazing light bites and sharing platters such as house potato crisps flavored with chili and lime salt and smoked onion cheese, or, roast carrot hummus with toasted pumpkin seed oil and hazelnuts served with grilled sourdough.
The hotel is a short stroll to the Aviva Stadium, The Three Arena, Croke Park, and The Convention Centre Dublin and it exudes luxury. The location is close enough to the spirit of Dublin but far enough away to enjoy some downtime if you wish. The Dylan is an excellent base from which to play all of the great Dublin golf courses and is only a 15minute drive to Royal Dublin Golf Club.
