The Dunstane Houses are a family run independent 5-star boutique hotel comprised of two Victorian villas at the opposite sides of the street from one another in downtown Edinburgh. They have been described as the spirit of Orkney, in the heart of the city, bringing with them a different air to anything you have stayed in before.

The accommodation comprises of The Dunstable Suite, The Hoy Suite, The Ronaldsay Suite, The Scape Suite, and a Luxury Double and a Luxury Wee Double. All of the bedrooms are individual and special in their own right, and the décor is dramatic with bold use of color, wallpapers and heritage tweeds.  The Dunstane Suite comprises of a roll top copper bath and a king-sized bed. There are beautiful views across Edinburgh’s cityscape, and a minibar filled with artisan treats and a bathroom filled with Noble Isle products allow for some indulgence.

The Hoy Suite contains chesterfield sofas, lofty ceilings, and wonderfully fluffy bathrobes all adding to what is a cozy, retreat, while the Ronaldsay Suite has a freestanding bath big enough for two and a snug seating area offering the perfect place to absorb the city views. The Scape Suite encompasses a roll top copper bath, a 4-poster bed, a velvet chaise lounge, and a Nespresso machine; seductive luxury.  The food and drink offer only adds to the experience of Dunstane House with the Ba’ Bar offering modern Scottish cuisine from light bites to full meals. Menus contain modern takes on traditional servings such as Cullen Skink, Campbells Haggis Bonbons, Scallops, and the iconic Dunstane burger. The Ba’ Bar was named after the popular Orkney game.

Breakfast is a real joy for the taste buds with homemade cereals, fresh fruit, juices, and freshly baked loaves of bread all the perfect warm-up for the full Scottish comprising of haggis, Ayrshire bacon, farm-sourced sausages, black pudding, and tattie scones.

The hotel prides itself on using local businesses and produce. The fresh fish and seafood are caught on Orkney, artisan cheeses and craft beers and spirits along with whisky tasting are all part of the brand and showcase the love for local at Dunstane House.

There is also a very stylish lounge and garden patio to enjoy al fresco dining in.
