The five-star Marcliffe Country House Hotel is set in the picturesque outskirts of Aberdeen city offering a country feel yet only a mile from the city center. A family-owned property, it was officially opened by former Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev in 1993. Proprietor, Stewart Spence has turned the Marcliffe into one of the most beautiful hotels not only in Scotland but the UK. The friendly welcome and ambiance make the hotel feel like a home from home.
There are a total of forty suites and bedrooms in The Marcliffe, all with king-size or zip-link beds, with inter-connecting rooms occupying double and twin beds to accommodate four guests. Amenities include fresh fruit and biscuits, an evening maid service, as well as daily newspapers, and magazines as part of the service.

Each suite and bedroom have acces to all modern communictions, including Sky News, Sky Sports and CNN. Each of the rooms contains an electronic extremely easy-to-use safe. There is also a room service menu available from noon until ten, and you can order from the breakfast menu from seven in the morning until half past ten.

The Spa offers beauty care and treatments for both ladies and gentlemen. The staff adds pampering, massages, aromatherapy, facials and body treatments. Whatever treatments you choose, you will be in the sure, safe, hands of their fully-qualified therapists.
The Marcliffe Hotel & Spa is renowned for its dining offering. The Drawing Room Bar and Lounge feature many original paintings by Scottish artists, as well as a fascinating array of artifacts owned by the family over the years, including a display of 140 cheese dishes – collected from all corners of the globe. The focal point of this beautiful drawing room is the baby grand piano which is covered with a pictorial record of the many guests and celebrities who have visited and stayed in the hotel since it opened its doors.

The real log fire attracts guests and visitors to the Drawing Room, considered the most relaxing retreat onsite. It is very popular for morning coffee, afternoon tea or for drinks before and after lunch or dinner. The Conservatory Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch (outside in summer) and dinner. The team of chefs specializes in regional produce from Aberdeen Angus beef, to game, and fish and shellfish from local rivers and ports.

There are more that 400 bottles of wine in the Marcliffe cellars to choose from, sourced from all around the world, and the Drawing Room bar is stocked with more than 100 choice malt whiskeys.

The conservatory restaurant is the perfect place to dine. An extensive menu offers the most exquisite cuisine and the best wines, served in relaxed, elegant surroundings.
