This landmark Grade II listed hotel, opened in August of 1889, is the only luxury hotel located right on the River Thames in the heart of central London. The hotel was owned by Richard D’Oyly Carte, who used the profits from his very successful Gilbert & Sullivan Opera to create this hospitality masterpiece.
