The Merrion Hotel, Dublin

"The most beautifully restored Georgian architecture in Dublin and renowned for its prestige throughout the world."

Dublin, Ireland

The Merrion Hotel is located in the heart of Dublin City Centre and offers the best in five-star luxury. It is opposite Government Buildings and only a few minutes’ walk from galleries, museums, pubs, restaurants, St. Stephen’s Green and the shops of Grafton Street. The hotel has some of the most beautifully restored Georgian architecture in Dublin and is renowned for its prestige throughout the world with the many awards it has collected down the years.

Emerging from the restoration of three of the most elegant 18th-century Georgian townhouses in the capital, the hotel has sympathetically restored to its former glories, encased in the original buildings, while today providing every modern amenity expected by guests.

The hotel houses an impressive 123 Bedrooms and 19 Suites. All are light and airy decorated in colors and fabrics selected from a subtle palette inspired by Paul Henry’s Irish landscape paintings, one of which hangs at the foot of the hotel’s main staircase. Rooms are located both in the Garden Wing and Main House and range from Deluxe Rooms to Penthouse and Specialty Suites.

The Queen Rooms are located in the Garden Wing and offer impressive city views from many of the rooms. They are equipped with all modern conveniences including complimentary Wi-Fi, cable/satellite television with movies available on demand, individually controlled air-conditioning, armchairs, a writing desk with Merrion stationery and a fully-stocked minibar. The beds are, by definition, queen sized and the bathroom is vast, with Italian Carrera marble surrounding separate bathtub and showers.

The Speciality Suites are located in the main house and are named Lord Monck and Lord Antrim Suites and are considered by many to be the most beautiful five-star hotel suites in Dublin city. They are incredibly spacious and are located on the upper floors resulting in the spaces being flooded with natural daylight.
Both suites feature painstakingly restored original rococo plasterwork. The curved, boat-shaped ceiling in the Lord Monck bedroom is adorned with exquisite motifs of flowers and birds. These suites are again equipped with all modern conveniences but are subtly disguised in a veil of Georgian elegance.

The Merrion offers a superb choice of dining options with something for all tastes. From The Cellar Bar offering traditional gastro pub food to the modern Irish cuisine of The Garden Room and the fine-dining experience at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, which is the only restaurant in Ireland to hold 2 Michelin stars, the quality and service are sublime. Furthermore, in addition to the Cellar Bar, there is the tasteful and relaxing ambiance of No.23 the Cocktail Bar, located a short distance from the reception desk.

To relax, The Tethra Spa is a must. The calming interiors make it an ideal place to unwind. The luxurious spa area offers private treatment rooms where you can enjoy a wide range of massages and beauty treatments, using ESPA products. There is also a stunning 18m swimming pool set in French limestone and a gym which is fully equipped with the latest cardio-vascular machines, audiovisual equipment, and free weights as well as a luxurious Italian marble steam room to relax after a strenuous workout.

The Merrion is set within easy reach of many excellent golf course including Portmarnock Golf Club, Royal Dublin Golf Club, The Island, Druids Glen Golf Club, The European Club, and The K Club, making it the ideal five-star luxury base for your golfing trip.
