Slebech Park

"Tranquil getaway where it is simply effortless to get lost in the stunning surroundings."

Haverfordwest, Wales

Slebech Park is a tranquil getaway set in a 700-acre private estate where it is simply effortless to get lost in the stunning surroundings. It is hard to believe that the estate is only a few minutes from a busy main road, in the heart of Pembrokeshire National Park in West Wales. All of the facilities revolve around the 18th Century, Grade II listed coach house, which was once the center of the estate.

The Slebech Park hotel was awarded runner up in the AA Unique Serviced Accommodation Awards in 2018, paying homage to the quirky nature of the accommodations. All of the bedrooms include luxurious Egyptian cotton linen, large screen TVs, movies, Llanllyr Source natural spring water, Welsh cakes, and ‘Barra Broth’ all complimentary.

All room types have a certain quirky nature which is a breath of fresh air. The Granary Rooms are located in the Old Granary; the original part of the building along the water’s edge. The rest of the building was added in the mid 18th Century and has exposed oak beams, floor level windows and solid floors that were used for storing grain. These are all on view, giving the building a feeling of real nostalgia.

Similar to the Granary Rooms, but a little more space to move about, are the Classic Rooms. These also have a nice deep 1800mm long bath to soak in and have stunning views over the gardens or the courtyard. The Splendid Rooms have a contemporary style and are even more spacious. Some have large lounges, one is split level with its original roof beams on show, and one has an Italian theme. There are also beautiful organic toiletries used throughout the estate. The Top-Notch Rooms have been handcrafted retaining all the original features. They have real character and genuinely compliment the history of the estate.

Food is a real passion at Slebech Park, and all of the food is prepared from the organic vintage kitchen gardens. This allows the hotel to showcase the finest Welsh culinary arts and produce on offer. The restaurant has been awarded two AA Rosettes for fine foods and service as well as the coveted AA Breakfast award and the restaurant has breathtaking views over the tidal Day Gleddau River Estuary.

The 700-acres is made up of arable lands, mature woodlands, fallow meadows, and riverside walls. The word Slebech is believed to be a Viking word meaning ‘stony beach.’ It is, therefore, believed the Vikings sailed inland to Slebech and thought its quarters made for a good place of refuge. The estate is steeped in history as can be seen from the stunning bedrooms on offer, but the estate’s grounds are also a magical place with a real atmosphere everyone speaks of.
Onsite activities are a must with an all-weather tennis court, croquet, and badminton. There is a water safari offering a trip to the puffin colonies. Shooting is available for pheasant and rough woodcock.

If you have never experienced wood turning them, you must experience it in Slebech Park. Head Gardener Bruce Wright has been at the estate for 25 years and offers fascinating courses. All wood has been harvested from the estate, seasoning it naturally over many years.
This is a stunning base for your group to enjoy giving an authentic taste of Wales as it is only a 30-minute drive to Tenby and a 40-minute drive to St. David’s and The Consummate Pro can highly recommend it to all of our discerning guests.
